Thanks for the heads up on this Bill... My Lionel RS-11 has always given me issues with the smoke unit. I've taken it apart and put it back together, no difference... I think I still have a small bottle or 2 of Lionels fluid and I'm heading in the garage now to try it out... Will let you know the results.... It'd be very cool to get this putting out some volume... Great Tip my friend !!!

Great information Bill! I use Proto smoke and mega steam right now, but I'm going to try some Lionel fluid when I use up what I have. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the info. ProtoSmoke...I found out I was allergic to it. Never really purchased the Lionel bottles...the ones that came with locomotives were usually dried up anyway. I've been using JT's in all my locomotives, but I've been wanting to try the new Lionel Premium Smoke Fluid.

Cool. I hadn't thought of that, but maybe you're right. I haven't had any problems with JT's myself, but I'll try the Lionel fluid and see if there's an improvement.

My Legacy SD-60 puts out a thick cloud now. I tried it with a 50/50 mix of Megasteam and Lionel Premium, WOW what a cloud!

I figured this out just a couple of weeks ago. I have done some experimenting with a few types of smoke fluid. Bart's pneumatics, JT's megasteam, Williams, and both types of Lionel fluid. I found the regular Lionel fluid to be the thickest. Barts is second. Then Lionel preimume, and last JT's. All of these fluids seem to mix together except the Williams, I dont think it has the same base as the others

@bradstrains Hey Brad, there is no doubt that MTH is the "KING" of smoke units, but I'm glad to see the improved performance of Lionel's new units! Anyways, thanks for the comment my friend and have a great one!

i just got my new ac6000 primed it and everything like usual but i got very small amounts of smoke. lionel found out it was a bad legacy board and fan the board would not let the smoke unit warm up all the way. which caused the small amounts of smoke for me but hopefully when i get it back on Tuesday it works better.
