@EaStxVaNxiNc most of the time its actually too little power which the amp reads as a voltage surge. Im finding out this amp is very very tempermental about voltage drops so for now i have my gains way down until i get my new alternator and the big 3 upgrade done.

@mallow399 its given out too much power u can bump it after seting it but as soon as u turn off no way its going back onn haha these amps have a sub protect mode thats were the problem comes in i turned mmy setings down havent went in to prot mode since

my friend worked at alpine and he said the best thing for sub is to armorall your subs. he said it makes the life of the subs last longer

the longer the path the sound waves have to travel (when speaking bass) the better

no if he used 2 mono block 1000's for the type-x's that would work fine, he wouldnt need 6 of them....peak power doesnt mean shit its RMS that counts and you dont want the amps RMS to match a subs RMS you want the amp to be a tad lower than the sub because if they are matched and you turn up the amp high itd be easy to blow the sub

Dude that amp is 1000 watts. 1 Alpine type x is a 3000 watt peak so thats a total of 6000 watts peak for the both. You would need like 5 of those amps to run them close to there peak

unless the sun gets to them ...cause then they will dry out twice as fast.

when im shoppin for subs i look for max then rms and if the rms isent half of the max then i dont think twice about it i keep on lookin but thats cuz im lookin for a certin max because the rms should be half
