Came back to remind myself how fun ark was when everyone was clueless and we didnt have guys running aroung with 200 movementspeed, meshing, PVP being the main concern of the game.

I found it useful in the beginning to just explore the island. Since everything you do in ARK earns XP you'll still level while you locate a good spot for your base. By focusing on exploring you can level up without worrying about losing your goods and you'll also know where certain creatures are most likely to spawn.
