Jack of all trades, master of none. I document my budget DIY projects that hopefully interest you as well. My projects involve rocket stoves, air rifles, computers, woodworking and 3D printing.

Channel for those who are just looking for ideas what their next project will be or that prefer to watch others work rather than do it themselves ;)

Always trying to find middle ground and what makes sense to me. Somewhere in between a maker, prepper and seeker of financial independence.

Very nice project design. Interesting that the stove develops 2 vortex swirls inside the chimney. I would try this project with a single but larger 45 degree baffle on only one side of the back of the firebox so all of the flame vortex turns in one direction inside the chimney. Did you install a taller chimney or add secondary air tubes?
That is seriously good.

Very cool! I bet this would be epic with all the upgrades that mentioned and used fire cement. And it would be evern cooler of you could use wood pellets.

Nice. Yes... there is no reason to build that "V" at the bottom of the firebox, but everybody copies what everyone else is doing without understanding what they are doing. It doesn't really hurt anything, but it doesn't really help anything either. Yea, I know the secondary air channel is sometimes at the bottom of this "V," but there is no advantage to that. Put the secondary air channel pipe anywhere in the firebox, middle bottom, sides, or top, emptying its air just before the port. Anywhere in the firebox is fine, as long as it preheats the air a bit.

And why not make it a j-tube configuration so you can do vertical feed your firebox is plenty big for that you put a 10 ft piece of 2x4 and then feed about a foot an hour
