Thanks I appreciate the compliment! Yes, they were cracked right out the box. I bought some dubro links that fit the balls perfectly but I had to cut them down and file on them and also replace the threaded rod with a bigger size to get them to work. I never had any problems with nose gear only the mains because of the added stress on the servo of rotating the wheels as they retract. I wondered why they included a set of fixed gear with the plane and now I know. Servos are just to weak IMHO.
