I love the idea that Shadow was once as happy and carefree as Sonic. This is so sweet.

One thing this fan film even imoroves from the original story is you can see shadow was visibly happy. He smiles much more, his body language is fluid. He acts like a child at times. And his voice is softer. Makes everything so much sadder

It was an honor to have played Maria Robotnik in English and been a part of this production that is so full of love. Congrats to everyone involved (seriously y'all are so skilled at what you do aaaa I cannot say this enough) and thank you for letting me be a part of it!! Giving my love to everyone enjoying the film!!

The fact that Mike Pollock was part of this project in the English dub really shows how special this project is to the community. Can't wait till next December for sonic movie 3.

Something about seeing shadow be so cheerful and have a bright personality back on the ARK and who he becomes on earth just works too damn well

You know, plot-wise, what really breaks me in this one is that while in canon it wasn't shown if Maria would ever be cured, in this one the ring inhibitors were a step closer to that hope. Gerald, Shadow, and Maria felt like they were making a large progress, that Earth was just in reach.....

I watched Sonic 3 and this was definitely the better telling of shadows origins, enough to make a grown man cry.

You can tell they really put a lot of work behind making this great job everyone!!!

Sonic Movie 3 may never be able to go this in depth with Shadow’s origin story. We can only hope that Sonic Movie 3 does Shadow justice. You guys did an amazing job!

I love how this version shows Maria as more than a one note character and to serve as a tragic story for Shadow. She has a great big sister dynamic with Shadow and goes well with Gerald.

6:37 really shows how Shadow went from being Gerald's experiment to a member of his family.

22:13 I just can't. The way this moment is crafted is nothing short of absolute perfection. You can FEEL the shattering of his soul through every element of the screen. We as the audience are fully immersed in that horrific moment of infinite dispar with Shadow and FORCED to understand the gravity of his eternal life forever changed. THIS is the kind of emotional, human connection missing from so many Hollywood movies today. Outstanding work.

Now I can officially say that your film perfectly conveys the structure of the plot, the emotions of the characters and the improved canon. In these few minutes, everything is quickly and intelligibly explained and complemented by logic. "Canon, but better" is the ultimate skill, you did what Paramount couldn't, your scene with Maria always makes me cry, Paramount doesn't make me cry. It didn't matter, Gerald is portrayed as desperate and heartbroken, Paramount portrays him as just a psychopath who is too cheerful and cheerful, and didn't do everything for the long-term destruction of the Earth so that people on it would feel the same, and then they died because he knew he was like that. They're going to execute him... He just wanted to heal his granddaughter and help the world, but they wouldn't let him, he wanted them to experience the same pain as him. The Shadow is my favorite character, and I appreciate his sad story, which has a lot of motivation, while Paramount has almost none, he didn't promise Maria anything. Dude, I wish they'd hire you to write Sonic 3.
