CORRECTION: at 17m00s Gary meant to say Musk, not Trump.

John Steinbeck once said that socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.

If economics were taught in schools like the way Gary puts the cards on the table & allows you to figure it out for yourself rather than bombastic steamrolling of opinions,it would get kids not only involved but feeling like they have control over their financial futures...watching folk drown in a world where they feel they have no control anymore is unbearable & heartbreaking and we've had enough! We have to hang together now & see the wider picture and focus on grass roots up. Thanks Gary for keeping it real & shining a light on a new way forward.

Taking away council housing, libraries, community centres, school programs, social services... all these things used to be hubs of activity between residents of the community who raised their families side by side. Think about why they have taken all that away. Most of us dont even speak to our neighbours. Its got to change. we are so powerful together.

I will say this again. Gary needs a comms team to turn this info into trendy and digestible content and flood the market. In the game of narratives it is the loudest that wins.

We have the same issue in Australia where the politicians seem to just see poltiics as a stepping stone to a cushy job with consulting firms, in the resource or finance sectors. Its in their best interest to keep their future employers happier than the people they serve while in office. Its effectively corruption.

Just to draw out a point Gary was starting with; the rich aren’t competing with you for your pub, or laundrette, they want the land to rent back to your pub before developing it into a spa or a gated community. Neither of which bring you anything you can afford or use.

I love your intelligence, your empathy and the way you communicate your ideas. Thank you for giving back to the community and not giving in to billionaires and multimillionaires.

Ive gotta say, i really like Gary's way of talking - he's not showing off, not being bombastic like many other commentators. And he describes macro-economics and politics in easily understandable terms... I feel glad to have stumbled across this channel!
