Description
Hello! This is Ravignon. I use this channel to create video essays about subjects that interest me, mainly in history and political theory. They'll be very artsy :) You might know me as an illustrator from Kraut's videos -- or just someone from the Discord communities I'm active in.
I am a democratic socialist and a trans woman, strongly identified with the revolutionaries of the Enlightenment tradition. As such, I do not aspire to create unbiased work. My bias will reflect in my essays and I'll promote ideas that I believe will lead to a world that's a better, more just version of itself.
I commit nevertheless to subject my videos to high-quality research standards. I will not respond to "call-outs" nor drama. Still, I'll provide APA citations, CC licenses and will be receptive to all valuable criticism, so that you may find value even if you disagree with me.
Thank you for reading, and please enjoy :)

You can't understand how happy it makes me, a Québécois, to have someone outside of Québec and Canada take interest in our history!

As an Eastern European I have no idea about how colonialism works and this subject was handed extremely well, not only giving great explanation about the history of this region of North America, but also showing how it connected to the overall French-British rivalry and the European economy as a whole. The delivery is perfect, small memes pique interests while not being too flashy.

As a Historian specialized in Canadian History, I must say this expose is rather well done. Some things would need to be clarified, but in general, this is a great work of vulgarization. Bravo! Good job sir!

I am of Hispanic American and Portuguese descent, and I was born and raised in Québec. I personally consider the Québécois to be Latin American. I don’t see why they can’t be. They are Latin and… American. Culturally and even physically, they are mostly different from Anglo Canadians. Working in customer service in a touristic area, I can easily tell who will speak French to me in contrast with the tourists from other Canadian provinces. Québec is a very interesting place with unique people.

Bonjour NomadStar! I am a Quebecer of french descent and I just stumbled on your channel after someone put your clip on a Quebec History group (yah, I'm historian)... I must say, after 4 minutes, I knew this was already a much better clip than what I usually see on my nation/province... Just the titles of chapters and the music show that this is very well researched... I appreciate your effort very much and look forward to see more! (although, at 49:05, we were not Quebecers, but still "canadiens". Quebecers/Québécois doesn't happen before the 1960s.)
