Fun Fact: Ultrakill songs are dynamic during gameplay, switching between "calm" and "combat"

ULTRAKILL's OST was primarily made by one band, Heaven Pierce Her, which only has one member, Arsi "Hakita" Patala. The rest of the OST was made by bands like Keygen Church (or Master Boot Record), HEALTH, and other classical composers. Yes, classical composers. Hakita did put classical music in his game.

The thing is The Death of God's will was written in like 4 hours before release that is how insane hakita is

Man I really hate that I missed this. Fun detail: "In the Presence of a King" is slowed down "The Spinal Staircase", it's for two encounters with the "same" person

Tenebre Rosso Sangue is proof that any intruments can work in a music genre if use right, no matter how unconventional they are in said genre (like the organs in rock).

The funiest thing in the world is when a musician has a face of absolute disgust, it means they absolutly love whats being played.

2:26:37 for those who don’t play ultrakill I think it would help to know that when ORDER plays, you meet the entity that the song Requiem was about and for

Fun fact altars of apostasy is a slight remix of into the fire. The first song of the first level in the last layer of hell of the act. I love how it all circled back

I tell you, people hear "The Fire Is Gone" and get a very wrong interpretation of the game...

I love the consistent theme of him trying to improv on a song and getting immediately shut down because he could NOT predict where it headed next

One of my favorite things about ULTRAKILL's soundtrack is a clear change in the direction of the music over the course of the game. As one moves from Act 1 to Act 2, there's a shift away from the more breakcore elements to a more organized set of tracks. It gives the player's actions more weight as they begin to feel less chaotic and more of a honed killing machine, coinciding with their improvement in skill. Also I think it's a noticeable increase in the skill of the composer- the music increases in quality as you play.

Fun fact Most of the songs have a "combat loop" (the ones you hear here) and a milder "calm loop" for when you're not in combat.

2:21:22 to refer to that chat message Hakita actually made a joke like this it was something along the lines of "my music making process is essentially: how many time signature changes do you want in the first 10 measures" or something like that
