I roadtripped down to the south a few summers ago, and it was wonderful! It was hard to get used to being called ma'am, and the portion sizes but I enjoyed it! My friend and I are from Alberta, Canada, and were welcomed with open arms. Lots of people found it amusing and brave that we traveled down there just the two of us girls, but we were never welcomed by anything but kindness. Can't wait to visit again!

Completely agree! I dont like when people move here to the south and try to change the way we do things. Slow it down, take your time, be respectful and enjoy your biscuits n gravy :)

Agreed!  If I might just suggest a few more things though.  In traffic, we expect you to use your signals (blinkers, flashers, whatever..) and when someone lets you in front of them, a "Thank You" wave is not just expected, it's simply polite.  The far left lane is ONLY for passing, not for driving at your given speed while you text your buddies.  When you are in the store, don't stand in the middle of the aisle while reading the box, checking out the shelves, reading your shopping list and/or texting, calling your buddy.  While we are laid back, we all have been taught that there is life beyond the end of our own nose.  If you don't like it, the direction you need to head is simple..."out".

Hey if you're from the north, and you want to move here and help us "make things better", keep moving, we don't need that here. If you're from anywhere else and you would like to move here to immerse yourself in our culture and learn what it means to be southern, then come on and welcome.
