NICE tactics! Definitely, timing the roll underneath the fireclaw, and dodging the fireclaw's lava eruptions is so key, so critical. The first time I played through on "hard", I tried the ice rail to no avail - just didn't have it modded correctly. However, I did find a strategy using the focus to scan the drones - discovering ahh haa - shooting down the drones carrying freeze canisters, and luring the Fireclaw to break and splash freeze, then 3 arrows salvos until the belly, and shoulders exploded. I found overriding the towers the most nerve wracking, but worth it, absolutely stunning.

Rather than using the ice rail, shoot the freeze cannisters off the drones flying overhead. When the Fireclaw runs into them it's like an instant freeze trap. Also shooting off the fire unit on its stomach and the 2 fire sacs off its shoulders causes it to burn indefinitely so you can just dodge it's attacks and destroy the tower weak points instead of overriding, and it will slowly burn to death.

Just did this fight yesterday and it was hard as shit. I used ALL of my chillwater crafting freeze bombs and freeze arrows lol. Was satisfying though

I've beaten this game. On each difficulty. Currently playing in UH. I gave it a break to focus on other games I have, so I figured, "hey, it's been awhile. Lets play some zero dawn." I'm here. I've been stuck. trying to do all my previous tactics from before on the previous difficulties, but this fucker aint falling for it. Not this time anyway.

Ok...I almost had an aneurysm fighting this big mf, but this is how I beat him (This is long, but helpful):

Went there with lvl 41, realized it was a lvl 50 mission after dying 8 times.. All after being super close to killing the bastard

Oh yeah this is the most darn frustrating battle EVER in the last mission of the main DLC. Got myself died alot in this battle though I've played in Normal mode.

Walked into this fight at level 36 on normal… BIG Fracking Mistake!!!

Not bad, one thing I'd recommend is once you pop the sacs on the fireclaw don't override the towers. Just destroy the cooling rods. That constant DOT is too valuable on the fireclaw

That was intense. I attempted to try this on UH, forgot to manually save prior to entering the cauldron. Got to the Fireclaw ran out of blaze and wire, got my a$ handed to me. I had to restart from my last manual save, which undid everything I completed prior to entering this sidequest. I was livid. I had to redo some side quests and main story parts. I am farming wire and blaze, I have the lodge ropecaster, and slingshot. I'm more than ready for this battle or am I?

I don't have adept versions of the bow yet... Could you please tell me whether I can use banuk hunter bow instead with damage mods on it?

I've tried this fight over and over and over again, and I just can't do it. The beast targets me incessantly, ignoring everything else. I can't get undamaged long enough to string an arrow, let alone damage the fucking thing.

I've now died around 30 times and ready to quit. I'm using carja hunter bow with fire arrows but keep running out of blaze

3hrs and how many times did aloy died..only banuk striker bow, with the ourea and aratak. I almost quit
