Kulpa couldn't risk extra innings with ball four. It was hot and Happy Hour was waiting.

I will be really pissed off if they trade Donovan!

I’ve been against automatic strike zones, I like the element that umps add when the strike zone might be a little different spot than another ump, adds another element to the game, but it’s calls like that 3-1 pitch that just makes you want to see auto strike zones. That was just inexcusably pathetic and on a call that costs us a guaranteed run and tie game makes it that much worse

Kulpa attended Florissant Valley Community College before transferring to Missouri Baptist College, where he was a member of the baseball team, but rarely played.

Why would the Cardinals want to trade Brendan Donovan, especially a prospect? Trading Brendan Donovan for a prospect would be like trading $25,000 cash for a dozen lottery tickets.

I was 50-50 about the machine call on balls and strikes, but not any more. Too many games turn on bad calls by umps. I mean really bad.
My son and I were listening to the game on kmox. It was made somewhat obvious it was a bad call. Had no clue it was THAT bad. DAMN

Good stuff AS USUAL JD. Thanks.

I have been saying for some time that the umpires are simply incapable of calling balls and strikes properly. In some cases the pitches are too fast for them to even see it's location, in a lot of cases the ball is just moving too much for them to be able to make an accurate call. I believe an automated strike zone, if they can get one that is spot on accurate is the only way to save baseball. I watch a lot of games where the umpires miss pitch after pitch, sometimes for both teams. For it to be fair for both teams, and to remove any potential bias, it NEEDS to be automated.

That was an Angel Hernandez like call.

Horrific call by Kulpa... So angry and the lack of accountability is even worse. Id love to see Umps get scored by their accuracy in calls and then games prioritised to the umps who are getting the job done the best!! and im with you no more of that stupid song

Why did Oli pull Gorman back for Burleson in the 8th with 3 on??? What a Shi* show........
ozarkman1478 (15 hours ago)
To many umpires have money on the games they are calling. This is why we see insane calls like we saw Kulpa. And the umps receive absolutely no discipline for very possibly throwing a game !

Good show JD. If the Cards trade my favorite player; Donovan, they better get a guy that is way more than just a prospect. Definitely don’t want him going anywhere but you never know with Mo.

If Daryl, i mean Donovan is traded, we riot.
