usually, when music gets too complex, it does'nt sound good anymore. but liszt was one of the few musicians who were able to write and play extremly complex but still good sounding pieces.

As I'm watching this I can hear that Hamelin has observed every single expression and dynamic marking in the piece. What an incredible performance! I've yet to hear better anywhere, and Ive looked hard.

When I heard that mistake around 5:04 I felt so relieved to know Hamelin is human.

LISTZ was ahead of his time when he composed this masterpiece. Only God knows what inspired him to be able to think of such a complex yet musically satisfying piece when he composed this. If there is 1 piece that best shows the genius Listz was, this will be it. It is Incredible!

It look me 2 months to master, but it is finally mastered! You can't feel your hands when you are through playing, the numbness lasts for about an hour :/

Beginning sounds rushed, but honestly It's Hamelin. We know he just wants to show off his amazing technique and he definitely does

the only question is: how? how could he compose such an amazing piece back in that time. it's unbelievable how beautiful music from that time is...

Has a bit of a flamenco feel to it, to my ears. Superb! Surely the best of Liszt's Hungarian rhapsodies.

At 7:18 is that sound in the left really coming from octaves or is he playing an alternate left hand that is not on the paper. If he is using the octaves is that coming from the sustain or does the ( I assume grand ) piano he is playing on have the pedal that only sustains the bass notes?
