How much are the big boys (Samsung, Sony etc.) paying you for this? Either that or, judging by the comments on here & many positive reviews elsewhere, you’re simply not qualified to make such sweeping statements.

I think the content creator doesn't know much about Hisense and TCL brands. TCL is fully integrated TV company which means it source all its components from its own factories and even source components to other major TV brands. Hisense is a major corporation which had revenue in billions just take a look at Wikipedia. They have massive market share in other countries including Australia and South Africa. However, both these brands are newer to North America so they price their TV competitively. Try Hisense U8H or TCL 6 series and see quality of these TVs are so good to Samsung, LG and Sony at the same price level.

Isn't Hisense made in Mexico at a plant that was moved there from the U.S. and was the formerly the "Sharp" brand?

You are wrong about Hisense. They are solid - the newer models. They have come along way. The cost cutting is in the features not the quality.

For most people the cheapest tv that they can get is the best because they literally cant distinguish any better, the only advice I give to non tech friends is to buy from costco cause of the extra free warranty.
