Description
My name is Clayton Marxer, A.K.A. “The Adventure Cowboy”
I grew up in southwest Montana on a 325,000 acre cattle ranch. I was literally riding horses before I could walk and loved every second of my time out in the mountains. I am an authentic cowboy who can ride colts, rope cattle, pull a breeched calf, build fence, and shovel manure. :-)
My day job is natural resources conservation. When I am not working, I spend much of my time hunting, shooting, fishing, hiking, ranching, and just about anything else I can do outdoors.
I am a huge fan of traditional western firearms and I love to share how they are tied to American history.
I do a little work in the film industry and have performed as an actor, wrangler, and stuntman in a few western film projects and TV shows.
I like to combine today's opportunities for outdoor adventure with our Western heritage.
I'm not an expert. I just share my experiences and observations. I always try to have fun, so come along for the ride.

12:53 That reason is most likely the wrong ammo, since .38 Special is in actuality a .35 caliber projectile (in a .38 caliber chamber). Old-timey .36 caliber revolvers are closer to .37 caliber than anything else. Shooting off-the-shelf .38 Special like that, you're putting a .357 diameter bullet down a .372 caliber barrel (with .360 lands).

I love colts because they’re easy to aim but I trust Remington’s more reliable and robust design. Remington may be a bit slower than colt at reloading, but still reliability is more important than looks

I just love the fact that conversion revolvers even exist. As cool as cap n' ball revolvers are, I've never had that much of an interest in them, BUT I love the way they look. This is the best of both worlds.

I really like the 1851 Navy conversion, i like the 1851 in general but the conversion "version" is just drop dead gorgeous if you ask me

Wild Bill was smiling down on you as you made the Tutt shot 4 out of 5 times, the miss was just to keep you humble

"Maybe it can redeem itself". Finally someone who understands that when the gun misses it's the guns fault; when it hits the 10 ring that's me doing it.

Those colts and remington are pieces of art. I prefer the remington though, both for the cap & ball and the conversion versions.

I like how Remington kept the rib on the ramrod for their 1875 Army/Outlaw SAA. That was definitely a way to tell the difference between that and the Colt Peacemaker

Let people know that on the Remington, the rammer was left in place because it still retained the cylinder pin, keeping it from coming out.

You have beautiful guns there! They are a piece of true American history! I don't think that American politicians want that being taught in schools. Please keep them; don't allow gungrabbers to take them, you have historical treasure there that's more precious than an ancient egyptian kings treasure!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!

I can't decide if the Colt 1851 Navy conversion or the Colt 1860 Army Richards Type II conversion look better. They are both beautiful revolvers. Who doesn't love a cartridge conversion? Such interesting guns from an interesting time of history. Works of art as well.
