Yes, it's still a steam locomotive - the steam is created by water which is superheated in the boiler, and this is what powers the drivers. The oil or coal is the fuel used in the firebox to create the heat necessary to make the steam. And yes the whistle is very important as a safety device. It warns people that there's 400 tons of bone-crushing steel, water and coal/oil on the move, and it's use was mandatory as a warning.

How far we've come... yet UP 9000 still looks as good as she did then, it's so unfortunate he's left the sim, I hope someday he re-releases them or allows somebody else to host them on their site.

@Fireheart528 there is one. UP 9000 is the only existing 9000 series today, however it sits in Pomona, CA along with a Big Boy and a couple other rusting steam engines

That is why Trainz has also the simple DCC mode. All you have to do is tell the train to go forward, backward, or stop ....etc

No, what your thinking of is an over- pressure safety release valve. If a whistle were used for this purpose it could give false information the crew or other railway workers. :)

@tufnel1970 I understand where ur coming from, you worked hard on this engine, it would be hard to let all your work go for free, but then again, you'd have the most downloaded steam loco period......lol

Powderfinger are an amazing band. If you like that album I suggest you also get "Vulture Street", & "Double Allergic". Then if you also like them get all there other albums :)

I will give it a go soon, but Trainz Classics comes with some session/tutorials that could help you more.

You can move your view point around the cab, and outside the locomotive.

@HOscalerules : It isn't my loco. Sorry. I built the route it is running on, but I didn't build the engine. The engine was built by :The Cowboy - (Shane). There is a link to his website in the description box.
