Just got mine yesterday. My first (and probably only) FX lightsaber! I like how when you try to turn it on without the blade, there's a short-circuit sound!

This laid the foundation for the modern day neopixel, xenopixel, SN-V4 and proffie lightsabers we know and love today. If it wasn't for these first force fx sabers I don't think we would have advanced lightsaber technology to the point it is today.

@miccnev thank you, and yes, that's an issue I negected to address. This saber came to me in a "less-than-mint-condition" I had a few nicks in the hilt's top, a chip out of the chrome paint on the activation box, and some glue residue on the bronze eye. But regarding a red blade, I just ordered Vader's which is in stock at Brian's Toys, so I'll be sure to show everybody whether or not the blades are interchangeable. Earlier sources say they aren't interchangeable, but I'll find out for sure.

Next weekend I should be making a teaser trailer length review on my Master Replicas Limited Edition collection. @SyberFilms I certainly plan on it. I used to have the Hasbro Anakin and Vader Force FXs with stationary blades, but I have never had an Obi-Wan, not Master Replicas nor Hasbro, so this will be interesting, as I cannot compare it to the original version at all.

This is a great review, thanks so much. I really needed a clear, concise review of this saber cuz I just bought my boyfriend one for his birthday, and I was starting to freak out that after $250, it'd arrive in the post and be tacky and horrible.... Needless to say, my fears are at rest now! Thanks! :)

By the way, it looks like they will be adding Darth Maul's lightsaber to the removable blade family. Finally we can have that "Duel on Tatooine" look for that saber with both hilts attached, but only one blade attached
