I used to make walking sticks but I used small trees, 2-inch diameter, that had a vine wrapped around the tree making a spiraling screw groove formation in the wood. Difficult to find but well worth it.

So basically what you have, is an urban javelin. However, you can take a walking cane, you know the curled topped ones, anywhere, and they make some really neat self defense ones too. Nothing disarms an opponent, better than making them think you're frail, when you suddenly turn into a tiger they'd run from in a second.

I've made a couple canes and walking sticks myself . I like it alot , just worried about the legalities . He done a good job .

as far as legal talk goes, I once bought a club of knurled aluminium that had a blade in it, I asked a local law officer what the legal rules were on it and he said "As long as the blades stays in the club it is legal, just as soon as the blade sees light then it is illegal." since I didn't want the blade, just the club, and in sight of that same officer, I snapped the blade off in the club. then he said Now it is completely legal

Very Nice Walking stick Bill. I love the addition of the blade, plus with just the weight of it you should be able to dispatch some of those goofballs pretty quick without deploying the blade.
