Ghost Town Living
Description
Living in an abandoned ghost town, trying to bring it back to life.
Cerro Gordo was established in 1865 and went on the be the most prosperous silver mine in California's history. At it's peak, over 4,500 miners called Cerro Gordo home. Nearly $500 million worth of minerals were pulled from the hills. Law enforcement wouldn't go to Cerro Gordo and miners were expected to solve their own problems. This led to over a murder per week in it's heyday.
Once the silver and water ran out, most packed up and headed out. The town has sat mostly abandoned for over 100 years.
My hope is to breathe life back into this town. My goal one day is to allow more people to come and stay overnight.
Restoring an abandoned ghost town with no running water is a long process with many ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I agree with a lot of these comments. Where's the backstory? How did this come to be? Motivation to do this? Even a quick 5 minute segment would do the trick.

Why are you whispering?. Everyone is dead and gone. And you own the town. Yell at the top of your lungs man. You are king there.

Pro tip: Use the Drone for scouting and mapping the area provided the weather is decent rather than walking aimlessly.

I love this. I have similar ideas and I literally searched on youtube about "living in ghost town" to find your channel. Been always fascinated with "survival living" where you just have peace and quiet with all plants around you. Kept wondering about building shelters in wilderness, and then wondering about what if we find an abandoned colony with so many houses just built like that? A little cleaning and readjusting and boom you're good to go. And then you can bring ingredients and cook food for yourself, no fuss at all. That's the life I'd really love to live.

Renovate each house one by one and put it on an air bnb . There are so many nature freaks like me that will be absolutely thrilled about this.
