What happened to Albatross is actually really sad. He never meant to become evil. But that power just ate him up to the point where he wasn't Fathom's grandfather anymore.

God I love this. The sketchy, crayon-like style really fits the vibe, and I love you can tell who is who. I specifically love the contrast in character design. Albatross is incredibly skinny, thin, has a narrow snout, and his eyes look mildly disturbing. Also, he has little fangs. Fathom, by contrast, is very round, soft, and cute looking! A very good PMV, your content never ceases to amaze me :)

Poor little Fathom. He looked up to Albatross so much and adored and loved him with all of his precious heart. When Albatross killed all of Fathoms friends and family (and Fathom had to kill HIM) it must have been hard for the little green dude. Let’s get some sympathy in the chat for him.

I think this is one of the most underrated moments in Darkstalker Legends. Sure, when we think of the ending and Foeslayer’s “death” to be the saddest parts to this story, but the most painful part to me at least was when Albatross was having his lessons with Fathom. We already know about the Seawing Massacre, but seeing the way Albatross was around Fathom, his own grandson, is like Tui saying “ah yes we gon have a game changer in here :)”. Looking back at how things could’ve been for the two of them is one of the most depressing parts of this series in my opinion. But, of course, Albatross eventually gets irritated with Fathom, even if he didn’t show it and it wasn’t Fathom individually that messed with him.

Man, it was fun to look into the making of this. The final product is so heartbreaking, Fathom is one of my favorites, and he really looked up to Albatross. He didn’t deserve this :,,(

I like to think Albatross genuinely loved Fathom as his little nephew, but he lost himself to his magic/came to hate Fathom out of his own fears and constant harassment from his sister and his past.
