You know what real drama is? When 75% of characters you want to draw are on your team lol

People who believe that beginner artists shouldn’t participate because they’re bad need to come off of their high horse. Art is an outlet, not a competition. We were all beginners once, and artfights can help beginners grow as artists

Yes!!! For real! A thing I’ve noticed is that all the ppl preaching that “oh, you shouldn’t be disappointed if you don’t get any revenges/ attacks! It’s not about getting stuff, it’s about gifting art!” … are most often artists with a big following, who get tons of attacks

I had someone who gave one of my characters a worm infection that crawled under their skin and was incredibly revolting to me yet I thanked them quietly updated my character permissions and moved on. It’s called being the bigger person just move on sometimes

Another thing that people tend to forget about art fight, is that the event is about the art itself! It’s supposed to be a way for artist to connect with one another by drawing for each other

Worst thing I did was categorize a worm as full-body instead of simple shape, and there's people drawing others pregnant or centipeded

Art fight becomes infinitely more fun if you stop caring about the “fight” aspect. Just draw who you want , and hopefully receive art in return.

another thing to add is friendly fires too! do whatever character that inspires you, even if the point system is something you wanna contribute too, you still get points!

The most wonderful and magical feeling I get from artfight is when a complete random person I have never seen or talked before decides to attack me. It's just crazy to think about that someone FOUND my oc and then take their time and energy to draw them. It really is like you said, opening christmas presents. Now that you said it, it kinda does feel like christmas, but at summer!

About point-farming : It DOES ruin artfight for people who their OC got used as simply a point fodder. You haven't had it happened to you, you thought it's miniscule, but if you understand how it can be sad sometimes when you didn't get any attacks at all, you probably can imagine how upset someone will be if they got all excited for an attack, but turns out it just someone using your beloved OC to farm point. Bad quality art doesn't mean art that got make quickly, or beginner art. I will be happy with a 10 mins doodle if that person is genuine about it, but when your character got marked as number and turned into lines and blobs that doesn't even resemble anything let alone their likeness it feels...bad. It feels bad that your original character who you love and wish to share with people are simply points. It's less about points and winning, and more about the frustration of people who got that done to you. I'm glad that had never happened to you though
