I am not joking. Honestly, this is my dream car ! Fast, quiet, good looking, energy efficient, reasonable price, good handling ...... You name it.

@Matthias Müller Leider keine besonders genaue Methode.

It's a white road sign with 3 black lines across it. You can see it at 0:55. On the Autobahn that means there is no speed limit.

It depends on what you need and what you are used to. You can drive this car quickly and have good fuel efficiency while doing so. Acceleration around town and on B-roads is really good thanks to the torque at low/medium revs. On the Autobahn it's more than adequate, but can't match e.g. a Golf 7 GTI.

As with any turbo-charged engine it mainly depends on how you drive it. If you mad it down the Autobahn and keep the rpm high you can expect up to 9.0l/100km. On the other hand if you keep it in cruise control set to 130 km/h it will need less than 5l/100km. I recently drove 400km through a snow chaos with a constant speed of 80 - 100 km/h. It needed 3.7 l/100 in these conditions. In the real world my consumption is about 6.0 - 6.5 l/100km. I usually drive around 180 km/h and long distances.

Thanks for your helpful insight, You gave me exactly what I was searching for...I am looking for a diesel car which is quick too but does not compromise with ride comfort !! Mazda 6 diesel was also an option but I will leave it because of its stiff ride quality !!

I only drove a current 320d only for a few kilometers, so it's hard for me to judge which one is better. Both cars are really nice. The Passat has lots more space than the 320d, but in my opinion BMW's 8-speed-auto is superior to anything else on the market right now. Around town the BMW's engine is a touch louder than the 2.0 TDI in the Passat, at higher speeds it was about the same. Fuel economy should be similar with both cars.
