The standards were not set to exclude women. The standards are set because supplies, bullets, shovels, grenades and so forth have a weight, walls need to climbed, trails need to be run and hurt comrades need to be carried. One standard, that's it, pass it you are in, fail it you are out.

I'm a retired woman Marine. He's 100% correct. I was put thru men's training in the 80s and 90s. I'm a very physically strong female, but i couldn't keep up to the men's standards.

And he is NOT wrong. Many female Marines I've worked with in the Corps all suffered from hip and back injuries.

As a Marine Dad, I respect all women in our great military. But facts are facts.

Most men, 99,999% of them will fail. Special Forces are on the absolute fringe level of athletic fitness. It's miles away from where you'd find the fittest woman on earth. It just is what it is.

In the British SAS/SBS, before training you get given a warning that you can die during the training (and men have).

As a very petite woman, I can indeed confirm that the operation to be un-crouton’d was a nightmare!

he has a point, at my heaviest I was 132 while in the Army and I fucking died every time I had to wear FULL battle rattle, and while I was in Desert Storm, I was always ALWAYS exhausted because of the Gear I had to wear even the rear, and I was a FOBIT! there is NO way women can be in SF or seals with the current MTOE for each PAX...it is physically too much weight, Go Lighter and you risk the Mission because u will run out something...hopefully NOT ammo....just saying!!

Oh so true, now, I don’t want to start a fire storm here, but where I live is volunteer fire department. The out going chief had a daughter that he was trying to get in the department. She was about 50 pounds over weight, and weak, she could not lift half the equipment needed, couldn’t hardly climb the ladders, etc etc. So now you know where this is going, she did make it, ONLY because of her father. Finally all the volunteers got together and said, either she leaves, or ALL OF US WILL LEAVE! And their reasoning, because how would you like to get into a situation where you’re in trouble and she can’t lift or move you or equipment. Chief retired so he didn’t have to tell her to step down, because she left with him. If she could pull/lift her own weight, no problem, but this wasn’t right to let her in.
