Lionel calls it "transitional mode". It's using TMCC and variable track power at the same time. You set the track power so that you can still control your conventional locomotives comfortably. Both loco's respond to changes to track voltage, but the TMCC can be individually controlled by the the TMCC remote while the conventional one ignores the TMCC signals. This let's you speed up, slow down, or park the TMCC loco while the conventional one is only responding to the track voltage changes.

It's 12X6 feet. The inner loops are O36 curves with O36 turnouts. The outer loop is O48 with O72 turnouts connecting the inner to outer loops.

You you can, but you will need a powermaster or TPC 300 or TPC400 to do it. What those devices do is listen to the TMCC signal, and convert it to voltage changes, whistle button, or bell button pushes. I don't own any of those devices though. I just use a normal transformer for conventional control.

The only Post War locomotive I own is a 2025 which as a single axle pilot truck (2-6-2). It has no problems with any Fastrack turnouts. I would check the wheel gauge on the pilot truck on the 736. Make sure there is no gunk build up on the wheels, and also check or increase the pilot wheel spring to forces the the wheels down against the track. You can increase the downward pressure by stretching the spring slightly or by replacement.

It's called by Lionel "transitional mode". See the earlier comments for the details.

If you are talking about the powermaster or TPC's like the 300 or 400, I don't own any like I stated earlier. They are only needed if you want to use TMCC to control conventional engines which I'm not doing. I still use the transformer throttles for that.

@Samta101 Probably two transformers on separate loops like mine.
