It is great to see that UP "Big Boy" no. 4012 has been restored back to a respectable appearance, this locomotive seriously needed the maintenance and new paint job as I was really starting to get worried about the condition of this locomotive.

The 4012 and and it’s tender are nearly 133 ft in combined length! Together, they weigh 1,250,000 lbs! So any Big Boy Locomotive will need strong heavy gauge track for sure.

I climbed all over this engine as a child, and was sad to see it decaying. At least it's seeing some care, 'though it will never live again.

There’s also 4004 in a park in Cheyenne that needs some restoration. It wheels are really rusted and it’s not in good condition.
