FAQ:

Q: What frame rate do you film at?

A: Right now, I film at 25 fps. I would like to start using 24 fps, but my sound mixing program, TrakAxPC, does not support that framerate yet.

Q: How do you get your animation so smooth?

A:I animate at 25 fps, and I take extra care when filming to make sure that the final result will be smooth. I also use an After Effects plugin called CC Force Motion Blur to simulate a motion-induced blurring effect.

Q: What camera do you use?

A: I use the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000. I hope to get a better camera someday, maybe full HD or better.

Q: What programs do you use?

A: I use AnimatorDV for frame capture, Blender for 3D animation, TrakAxPC for sound mixing, and GIMP and Adobe After Effects for everything else.

I don't Sub4sub, sorry about that.

One of the greatest stop motions I have ever seen. Wow. I've seen thousands of lego stop motions and this is amazingly animated with great camera focuses and musical background. And overall, absolutely creative.

Yes, I used the CC Force motion blur plugin in After Effects. I worked pretty hard to eliminate any distortion, but there is still a little here and there.

That was awesome! The whole idea of it is great, but I really love the camera movement; very original. Very smooth animation, too. Very well done, dude.

Well, I don't change any of the effect settings normally, but I make sure that "Frame Blending/Pixel Motion" is enabled for the layers that use the effect, and for the composition that contains the layers. Also, if you add the motion blur effect to a layer, you cannot add any more effects or masks to that layer, so what I like to do is pre-compose the layer with the motion blur, and then add any color or mask effects to the resulting composition. Hope this helps.
