Danheim is a Nordic folk/Viking inspired project from the Copenhagen-based Danish producer Reidar Schæfer Olsen, a man with 8 years of experience in electronic and ambient music - focusing on Nordic Folk and Viking age inspired music with a certain Nordic authenticity or mood. Danheim's music is often composed of ideas and stories based on the darker side of the Viking period, inspired or consisting of Nordic mythology, old Danish folklore, and a vivid imagination.

"Berserkir" is a term which is mainly found in poems like Haraldskvæði or the Edda but it is not sure, that the term was really in common use by that time. It is rarely found in ancient battle reports. This berserker-like fightingstyle, however, was seen at many Germanic tribes. With "Furor Teutonicus" the Roman poet Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (d. AD 65) described the merciless, raging and reckless fury of the Teutones in combat: "In battle they cheered because they hoped to die a glorious exhilarating death." / "They assaulted with the velocity and violence of a firestorm: foolhardy and fearless with beastly voices and dreadful shouts."

I once had a Lan party with my fellow friends. We were playing Valheim, A viking survival game. Fairly new to the game we ran into the black forest hunted by mystical beings. I put on this song so everyone could hear. We were high on this rythm feeling like real warriors. good times!
