It's so sad that people never learn much about other countries. Particularly in the west we often have a very superficial and rose tinted view of other places. I feel like we would appreciate movements like femminism a lot more if we could see where they are actually coming from and what women have to lose if we really destroy the movement.

Toxic masculinity is a genuine issue worldwide and as someone who studies the region Latin America it feels very concerning how less discussed it is and generally tolerated is very concerning. Like I had several Russian and Latino female friends be abused by their male partner and they themselves and their friends were unaware of how terrible and unjust this treatment was.
