Don’t forget that Gouketsu was so strong that he made Genos downplay Saitama. True strength right there

Phoenix Man talked about the importance of matchups when he picked up Garou - it suggests characters that, overall scale higher can still be defeated by someone lower ranked, or distracted.

One thing about Gouketsu is that he was most likely meant to be either Silver Fang or Darkshine’s matchup. Neither had a designated opponent, and I doubt Psychos would just ignore those two and hope for the best. Given how well Psycho’s other matchups went, Gouketsu probably scales above Darkshine and possibly even Silver Fang.

Don’t forget Suiryu saw Saitama one-shot Bakuzan (on top of fought and lost to Saitama prior) and he STILL 100% believed that Gouketsu would still kill Saitama and was basically mourning for Saitama. So it’s not just Genos but also Suiryu (who was one of the few characters who immediately knew Saitama being very strong so his “genius perception” is probably stronger than his skills much like a Black S. In that way, Gouketsu is legendary in everyone who talks about him (including Gyro Gyro and Orochi called him by name). I feel like with a lack of feats, in everyone’s mind he was top dog.

Gyro Gyro also saw King straight up and misjudged King’s strength. So I think Gyro Gyro “analyzes” in a logical fashion as opposed to truly reading power levels.

Extra note about Gouketsu: when Genos imagines the S class heroes facing him, Tatsumaki is there and Genos has seen Tatsumaki stop the shells from Boros’ ship and assault it from the ground, possibly putting Gouketsu above the attack that wiped out city A, at least in terms of attack potency (obviously not scale). Doesn’t really change the ranking, but just something I thought of while editing.

I’m only here to say no matter the ranking , when it comes to pure terror there’s no monster that compares to furher ugly . That thing was disturbed & I got my own theory that the Ugimon are the only true monsters in OPM verse . Cause the stuff he was doing was straight up sick
