Description
This YouTube channel is a spinoff of the Sioux Scout backpacking & bushcraft channel.
More focus on portable amateur radio, with videos gear reviews, how to's, SOTA (Summits On The Air) and POTA (Parks On The Air) Activations, and general field use of amateur radio.

The bulk of the content here will be related to Summits On The Air. With my experience with backpacking, SOTA has really become an obsession for me. From time to time there may be some random videos about general preparedness and self reliance, without going full "Doomsday Prepper" on you.

Great radio for POTA hunting mobile. I use Shark hamsticks. Mostly 40 meters and 10 when its open.-N4TCM

Which BNC connector do you use for this radio. I would like to do that.

650 bucks it had better be a great radio and it is. As far as all the bells and whistles put a base unit in your car. It's a mobile radio. nice presentation.

891 is a mobile radio, it's simply too heavy for portable operations. Tried SOTA with 891 once, wasn't able to climb even a half of the distance. Switched to FX-4CR and smaller battery, no problem ever since. No, I am not going to spend 8 hours daily in a gym and I am not in my 20s any more. 73!
