It was hard for me to get into isaac, as i felt that most basic items being useless and basically everything being rng wasnt fun. But i slowly realised isaac is 60% a strategy game, and depending of the depth of your decision making and game knowledge you can guarantee yourself good runs. Now i love the game

Also, the modding community for isaac is insane, and it leans into that a lot. Repentance is based on a mod, and the mods add even more! Some notable ones would be fiend folio and epithany, but there is a LOT of mods

Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together aren't really roguelikes but technically they fit the description, they're moreso sandbox survival games with permadeath to make things riskier and because of it everything in the game is meant for a long term experience

Yes,what makes Isaac so special is the amazing number of item synergies, and how well they go together, and we still get surprised by them after thousands of hours of gameplay!!

There's a pretty unknown of rogue like called BPM: Bullets per Minute that's still in really early development but is still one of the most unique rogue likes I've played. The whole gimmick is that you have to time every shot, reload, and dash with the beat of the music. It's hard to do at first but becomes natural as you play. I highly recommend it.

isaac is just masterpiece of a game, there are games that are objectively better and games that i do like more isaac yet isaac is a game that i can always come back and will always like going back to, it has a charm no other game has to me. i completed the game 3 times already, still want more while most other games gets me bored even if it is second replay. in short no matter what happens isaac will have a special spott in my heart

D&D mixed with a Saturday Morning Cartoon really hits Gungeons aesthetic beyond gun puns. Especially when one of its content updates was called Advanced Gungeons and Dragons with its AD&D inspired promo art.

One that will forever be one of, if not my favourite next too binding of Isaac would have to be Noita, the absolute unlimited spell combinations, tedious secrets, and the absolute mentally swelling ,unforgiving nature of the game just has me hooked every time I play, plus other gameplay additions such as alternate worlds and the ability no matter how strong you are for the game to end it all instantly just makes it so awesome, and definitely deserves a looking into if you haven’t.

I'd say the difference between Rogue-Like and Rogue-Lite Games is still quite important. Especially the feeling of progression between runs can make Rogue-Lites much more appealing for some players. Wouldn't hurt to at least include which type it is per game.

Nowadays some people seem to misunderstand the true meaning of "infinite replayability". At least for me, that means that no matter how much time I sink into a game I will always experience and learn new things almost every time I play. And guess what, for me there's only one game that managed to do that exact thing, Isaac. More than a thousand hours and I still learn and experience new things many times I play. Item synergies, rooms, ocasional wacky runs where I need to resort to other means to win because I have a very low dps, stuff like that. I don't think there's many if any games at all out there that can offer an experience like this, it doesn't take long until you've seen it all in most games you know? But it's just not the case for Isaac, you will never truly see it all, you will never truly know 100% about this game, there's literally 700 different items (with all dlc's) that all interact with each other in a unique way, the possiblity for wacky, OP builds is endless, not only that but there's 34 characters in the game, many of them having a completly different playstyle which may resort to you picking up certain items with them you normally wouldn't, like picking up sharp plug with tainted maggy literally turns you immortal as long as you spam the space key. And also the game has a super dedicated moding community.
