This is a great review. Especially hearing it come from someone who was a fan of the source material. It has great artwork, a weird atmosphere that never diminishes whether you're high or sober, and a kick-ass soundtrack that enhances each story.

I think the greatest compliment you can give a work of art is that it inspired you to make your own art! Thanks for talking about a movie that most people don't talk about anymore :)

Loknar infects all times, all Dimensions, everywhere all at once in multiple forms it depends on the individual in the corruption and influence value right across the spectrum, it's a great trip, "The Fifth Element "is basically Heavy Metal live action

My parents took me and my brother to see this movie when it came out...because it was animated so it must be for kids...then Harry Canyon started with a chick getting naked for a sex scene. But since my dad paid for tickets, we weren't leaving early and watched the whole thing.

Taarna was my favorite segment. Wish the whole movie was about her quest lol.

You’re the first reviewer that hit on the music aspect of the film. This is what drew me to the movie as I didn’t know there were the comics until after the movie came out. Great job on the review.

Any woman who appreciates Heavy Metal (both the magazine and the movie) deserves the upmost respect. I first saw this movie on Cinemax in 1990. I immediately taped it when it next aired and made copies for all my friends. When I was 15 I got a subscription to the magazine and loved it. I salute you Nerd Girl. You are awesome!

I loved this movie as a kid, along with the soundtrack. Still enjoy it. Thank you for spotlighting a true classic. Cartoon boobs shocked me, being used to watching Hanna-Barbera Saturdays. Well done.

I have to admit this was one of my favorite movies from the 80s. And my favorite adult cartoon.

I always loved the B-17 segment. Not a great zombie fan but the art work and the Goth vibe of World War two was awesome. A kind of 1940s punk style. Maybe do a review on 1977's Wizards of that ilk?

LOVED this movie. My friends endlessly quoted this movie while playing Dungeons & Dragons, and still do to this day.
