With the dark soul community i can't never tell if they hate a weapon because it's too strong, too weak or too normal.

At this point In the Elden ring life cycle the moonveil ‘looks’ balanced compared to the other crazy set ups that eliminate players and bosses in like 3 hits

They say if you listen closely and quietly you can hear, "Bury the Light" playing from Moonveil.

Respectfully. There is far crazier shit in the game than this.

The Moonveil looks like a balanced weapon after seeing Rivers of Blood and all of the other various bleed builds in this game. I use Moonveil almost exclusively on my Samurai character specifically because it makes the fights feel...normal.

I can't help but laugh at people that think this weapon is broken, while bleed builds curbstomp everything in the game without effort.

I love Moonveil, just a sucker for blue light effects. I would have chosen the Carian Knight sword over it if Carian Grandeur was just quicker for PvE

Moonveil, Rocksling and Chesse is basically what gets me through this game.

The moonveil is +5 here, around level 60-70 as dex/int hybrid

Edit: This was when the game had just dropped, I had just found moonveil and tried it here for the first time.

Moonveil is a very nice weapon, but Adula's Moonblade is much better and is a spell... With Adula's Moonblade, you can have Bloodhound step as ash of war, and this is one of the best and funniest combinations in the game, especially endgame (bloodhound makes bosses enjoyable again (as you can escape from one shot delayed explosions AOE attacks that every enemy spams without rest) and Moonblade allows you to hit the enemies without having to deal with the camera, as it is mid range).

I really wish Elden Ring had had a few weapons that functioned like the weapons of bloodborne, where their weapon art is free and can be combo'd, but causes the weapon to transform entirely into a different weapon type.

Now I'm motivated!

Moonveil is useful to carry around as a secondary weapon because when I'm playing with a friend and somebody invades us I just pop it out and kill them before putting it away again. As somebody who doesn't care about pvp and just wants to get invading players out of my game as quickly as possible it's a nice option to have.

This is an extremely easy mini boss to begin with and you're already at a decent level to fight him.

Honestly the damage on Moonveil is fine. It's similar to unsheathe on any other katana. The issue is how easily you can spam it from range making it deal tons of damage with very little risk.

This is fun, what's also fun is using river of blood and putting points into vigor/dex/arcane, and just going ham. One thing that makes any build fun is sprinkling a little bit into Faith to use some really cool incantations and spells like that dragon that pops out of your hand and gives enemies rot, so cool
