Description
In 2017 although not away from clay I return to pottery making after a 25 year laps. My written, video and sketch journals document reviving basic throwing skills and an exploration of the oxidation kiln. A traditional farmer potter only the winter months can be devoted to clay. During the year I grab it when I can, making a special order, visiting a gallery, farm market sales, sculpture, historic village volunteering, and working with my ''pottery apprentice''. Some food and travel round out the year. If you learn something from my studio routine or are just entertained enjoy and welcome to my ''potters journal'' - Jeff

Hi Jeff! I'm thinking of making a small mural for an insert for a wrought iron gate...probably more on the talavera style. You've convinced me to just buy it locally and get on with my life! LOL!!!

mi sueño desde mi niñez y no lo pude realizar por no haber encontrado una persona que me hubiera dado uno o varios cursos. Muy lindos y felicitaciones

Nice Jeff, I have never glazed any tiles before. I make them to rase pieces of pottery up off the kiln shelf to keep it in better shape not to make pottery pieces but I like what Iam seeing.

Ditto regarding purchased tile cutters, punch style. I got one for my classroom. Poor quality. It fell apart within a day or so. Waste of budget money. Your method is the best way to get square & consistent size. Yours turned out very nicely!

this great! thanks for sharing! now im reconsidering the tile punch! Did you not dry and bisque fire before glazing? Did I miss that?
