I think that the diversity of species and characters is actually a good thing, i mean, it can be confusing, but on the other hand it differenates yfm from other series - the lore is deep and worth getting into. I mean, it's all up to you, I'm just sharing my thoughts

I honestly don't know what the right choice is here, the current one is great but if you feel it could negatively live am impact, then it might a better option to reboot it. Then again, success comes with flaws, so maybe it wouldn't be all that bad if you kept it. I'm stumped at what the decision should be, but this is just my take

I haven't seen the series so I don't really have investment in it myself, but to me it feels like this should be a choice for you to make. It's your creative endeavor, if you feel like it needs to be redone to better fit your standards, you should, and if you feel like it's fine to just leave it and just improve on future parts, that's fine too. Ultimately, the only person your art really needs to make happy is yourself, so take whichever path makes that happen imo

I have no idea what this is, but the biggest sin I see in modern writing/storytelling is too many shallow characters and too little plot, too much focus on worldbuilding that adds nothing, and too much focus on "action". Cut named characters that don't do anything or add anything. Every scene counts. Every chapter and scene must maintain or raise tension and/or questions. Tension and raising questions matters more than action or surface level complexity, or anything else really. This is universally true no matter the writing medium. Conserve action and use it wisely, as action does not inherently mean tension. Action scenes only mean anything if they're DOING something, not just looking pretty. Also, high body counts in storytelling are also hugely overrated and overdone. Not every story needs to start on a pile of corpses.
