The silence is where the "punchline" of the ad would be

There are ad generators that have a massive library of about 5 tracks. A few weeks ago I got 2 ads in a row, for completely different companies, using the exact same track.

I hate corporate music, but I also hate ads, so it fits. What's truly soul-crushing is when they use good music in the ad. So I approve of the move to keep real and corporate music separate.

You gotta add the "hey!" And the weird choir they always use

I’ve genuinely never noticed the bass lines in ads. They don’t set up for a payoff. You don’t ever say “I wonder how that works musically,” it’s just white noise behind a voice telling you all the reasons your life is crap without their product. You associate it so heavily with the ad that you don’t realize it even exists on its own

As a bassline myself, I can confirm this is everywhere
nonconnahordeath (10 hours ago)
and every pharmaceutical ad has, like, ukulele strums, whistling, and a whimsical tambourine

I felt a surge of rage go through my spine. You captured it perfectly. Subbed

Don't forget the whistle tune and the finger snap for a snare drum

it’s the soulless, dead-eyed stare that really does it for me
