This ammo was actually designed for use in a rifle. It actually works best through a 6 inch barrel. Your snuby isn't worth carrying for any purpose that I can imagine. If you're really worried about snakes and you need to carry a small pistol,, get one that shoots .45colt and .410 shot shells. A .410 with #6 pellets will dispatch any snake from 20 feet away.

The fact that these even exist is nothing but a gimmick. I live in Arizona, encounters with snakes in the early hours of the morning are pretty regular. Snakes are tough bastards, guys. And when I say tough? It took 3-4 shots with a 9mm to stop it... and these were hits (124grn FMJ) the damn thing was nearly blown in half! -AND it was still moving ! I had to put a 5th round to the head to finish it off and put it out of it's misery. These little shot shells will either piss them the hell off, or make it suffer for the rest of it's life.

It's commendable that you didn't shoot a real snake for the demo.

Best snake or rat medicine is .38/357 Speer capsules with #9 shot. Never had good results shooting .22 rimfire shotshells. The .45 CCI shotshells in 45 acp work excellent even working the slide like regular ammo for quick follow-up shots.
