I have done a few styles of heaters and burners the main tip I can give is take your time open the valve all the way and leave it over night then unscrew the valve fill half way with water wand shake it the bottle pour the water out and then fill it right to the top and leave for 2 more days then put your hole in the top first or wherever you want you chimney. To make sure there is no gas left you can light a rag and put it over the hole while it’s still full of water and you should be safe to continue. Please always use common sense and protective equipment.

Good first attempt. I hope you make another one. Welding easyer with paint off. as stated above. and with stick welder in upright, weld from bottom to top it looked like you were going to come down as done with co2. Now thats what you want a co2 welder. then you will have fun. By the way when I made my fire as on my site I used two gas bottles so as to be able to have door bigger than the hole. Look forward to next fire, every one has a gas bottle stove insde them waiting to come out Cheers Pete

Just  a suggestion to cut the side of the door where the hinge will be, weld the hinge then cut out the other sides of the door. Already aligned for you. Love the concept though, wish I could find a cylinder like it to do the same.

Tip of the day......mark your door however you see fit. make the vertical cut where the hinges are going. Then, Clean paint off, and weld the hinges on. After that you can cut the rest of the door, meaning its perfectly aligned first time.

Good simple easy fire just how I like them. It did look a little bit dangerous with your 1st cut when I done 1 I took the valve of left it for a week then filled with fresh water a couple of times then filled again left it full then done my 1st 2 cuts then laid it on its side. But I am glad you didn't blow up and I like your fire. The back ground looks like you live in the middle of a forest, I would love to live somewhere like that you lucky man you lol. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I just made mine as big as poss as I wanted to get a 6-7inch log to fit inside. If you can, cut the door out of a spare bottle so you can make the door overlap the hole you cut.

iv hves seen some shxt workmanship in my time but i think this beats the lot, cut one side of the door and attach the hinges first the door will fit better and grind the paint off before welding for a better weld. and grind the pigeon shxt weld's down afterwards, and painting it, would make it look more presentable

Great idea welding near flammable materials and aerosols

I have lost my mind! I actually closed my eyes when you stuck the welding rod to the door LOL. This is a nice stove, looks like it would last forever too.

clean your steel before you weld it, cut the hinge side first and then weld the hinges on, then cut the rest of the door out :)

best to unscrew the top fill with water for a while then leave it hanging upside down for a few days then fill it with water and drill some holes in before  cutting on a propane not sure about the blue bottles  puts a sweat on the  head though cheers
