it spit a rocker out......real common problem....replace one rocker, valve spring, and lifter.....good to go......parts are about 50 bucks.....super easy to do at home
davidking4779 (10 minutes ago)
I had the same noise. After being advised to replace the lifters, it turned out to be the timing chain tensioners were loose. An easy cheap fix , but hard to diagnose.
Sundance421 (18 minutes ago)
It is a slapping timing chain due to low oil pressure because the bearing are bad. To test this put a straight 30 weight in the motor and let motor warm up to operating temperature and it should go away.
kcam04 (28 minutes ago)
Not yet. Two shops said it was a thrown rod, but my oil pressure seems fine. It might be a spun bearing but I don't have the money to fix it right now. I will keep updates though.
ladale21 (31 minutes ago)
Take them off to rule out that its not a rocker that has fallen off the lifters or the lifters are worn, if you find nothing then, yes I would start guessing things that are in the bottom end

What was the final verdict and fix?
Bigjamez2011 (52 minutes ago)
Hard to tell over the failing or low power steering pump , that’s a hard tap you have a failed rocker
