I really enjoyed reading this novel as well, though I felt that it was a moment that they were competing with the kites that really put a strain to Amir and Hassan's friendship. Their difference in hierarchy did not help either. I really enjoyed the Afghan perspective from its citizens, which is important when looking at a country that has an intense impression in foreign affairs. I enjoyed your review! -Josh

Great review! I haven't read this book yet, but I've heard it's good. I might have to pick it up.

Great review! I loved this book as well and have been meaning to watch the film for everrrr but have never gotten around to it. I definitely agree with what you said about how whilst you don't completely love the main character you do completely understand him and his motives. Also "for you, a thousand times over" makes me cry ALL THE TEARS. I'd definitely recommend you check out A Thousand Splendid Suns by him sometime, I actually think I liked it more than this one! (although it also is a bit of a tough book again and I cried lots :P)

I enjoyed this book and found it interesting to read about another country and life from that perspective. My Mum has read another couple of books by this author and enjoyed them both.

I'm currently reading A Thousand Splendid Suns by Hosseini. I'm not too far in, but I love his writing style and voice.

It's been a while since I read the Kite Runner it was such a great book about friendship. It was hard to read for me as well at times, hard to see kids go through things that they shouldn't have to go through, like war obviously. You should get the movie it was just as good I think! I need to read A Thousand Splendid Suns at some point.
