This scene was absolutely well done. The dichotomy between the two characters, the perpetual contrast between reality and Mahito's imagination, the animal imagery/symbolisms - Gege really knows how to make entertaining pieces of entertainment - and Mappa really brought it to life with their amazing animation, and on top of that, great voice acting

This scene was peak. Yuji being portrayed as the alpha predator while Mahito is the injured prey, Mahito weeping, crying and throwing dirt at Itadori was such a funny moment too, Mappa's animators absolutely cooked again! (Like they always do)

I love how, despite being a curse born from humanity itself, Mahito was so much less human than the other three disaster curses. The others all had very human and kind of admirable traits: Hanami's love of nature and loyalty, Jogo's pride and determination, Dagon being motivated by revenge for the loss of a loved one and all of them were brave in the face of death. They also happily reunited after their death. Compared to that Mahito, despite his strength and appearance, just seems so much more pathetic and inhuman than the rest of them.

I just realized that the entire scene in this episode was all in his head, he was so scared that he began imagining that Itadori was the hunter and that he was the prey (the bunny), even though it was in his head itadori still had control over him like the bunnies ankle breaking and mahito realizing this. Also this is backed up when mahito see's geto which instantly ends the fear and the scene because he is saved.

my favorite thing about this scene is how they don’t even need to add shadowing or glowing eyes to make yuji look terrifying. this fight has completely transformed him

I love how after this episode pretty much everyone just collectively agreed this is Yuji's song now.

I think that what really sells this scene is that this is legit the only time mahito feels fear. Whenever he did anything before hand. He either did it with a wicked smile or disinterest. But now he's fearing for his life. Too weak to do anything other than pathetically throw snowballs at yuji. Speaking of which. Yuji had always been a very emotional character. Be it with his friends or against his enemies. But now. After reaching his breaking point. He faces mahito with but a plank stare. At this scene. They are acting basically the opposite of how they usually act. The overconfident mahito now trembling in fear. And the kind and sensitive yuji emotionlessly staring down the one he hates most.

He forgot to take Karma into accountability. So Karma visited Mahito in person.

Yuji become him so much he changed the verse to re zero
