This era of Disney is filled with underrated films

Treasure Planet was a legit steampunk space opera and and underrated masterpiece

So happy I grew up with this movie. This and "Atlantis" are highly underrated. They were adventurous and exciting.

I never knew there was a planned sequel, now I'm even more depressed.

What I love about Treasure Planet/Island is that Long John Silver is the most unique "villain"/antihero ever conceived. He's a ruthless pirate, yet has a soft spot.

Ah, so Disney's biggest mistake wasn't the film itself. It was not giving a single damn about it and basically setting it up for failure.

Given the fact that the directors had to make 5 feature films before they could even bargain with the bigsuits to make this film, I absolutely believe you that the bigsuits sabotaged this film's release so they can have a reason to not make more films similar.

I'm just pissed off Disney killed their 2D animation.

This was SUCH a good review. I’m so freaking sad that treasure planet never had a sequel. This was my favorite movie as a kid, the visual aesthetic, music, and theme I was all obsessed with as a kid.

Jokes on Disney cause me and literally everyone around my age that I know loves Treasure Planet and Atlantis the Lost Empire.

I feel horrible for Ron Clements and John Musker, this is a movie they wanted, loved doing, and working on the most. I liked the movie and loved the characters and how the story went, for me personally is my favorite Disney movie. It completely bombed hard at the box office. Because of that, I feel extremely sympathetic for them and the movie.
