Wooow nice information
Missworld_266 (47 minutes ago)
You must always completely drain the can in the kitchen sink , and then you empty the ackee into a small pot of salted boiling water for a bout 10-15 minutes before frying it up in its fresh seasoning , and oil 🏾

Great upload. I'm not surprised. Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of eating fresh ackee. But will check the ingredients from now on

Appreciate this information very much! Great information. I cannot believe these companies in Jamaica would do this to their own people for the love of money. I will call the company in Florida that I buy from and take your advice and ask questions about the label and ingredients. God bless!

The shelf life for Grace is longer than the Linstead product because of the additives. Just soak the Ackee (as you should do anyway) in water to remove the added sugars, citric acid (basically dried lemon/lime juice), and salt. I would be more concerned with where they are canned. If canned in India or China the Ackee is sourced from that region!

Diabetes is far much more than eating sugar; it is about our entire lifestyle: exercise, eating habits, food, sleeping, smoking and more.

Stay away from tin foods as much as possible and if you have to use tinned foods ensure you read the labels.

Also Queens check the net weight vs the drained weight on the can. Some of them will be more water but try charge same price or more.

We have Tropical Sin Ackee here in Switzerland and the label says distributed by a US & a UK company. It also says Ackee, water & salt. Thanks for the info. I’m a new subscriber
