I´d say this is not the best way to do this, you can either follow the stars or use muscle memory, I thought memorizing it was easier, you can simply keep practicing the dark part by going into practice mode and keep practicing it until you can do it flawlessly, rest of the level is pretty easy.

So in all fairness, the strategy should be to simply use practice mode. Once you memorize the invisible part, you can do it more or less every time.
