Cube ended up in the washing machine covered in nutella what did i do wrong?

Why all the dislikes? Hey, I can't get the screen where it says "Your cube has been hacked", you know, that screen with a Rubik Cube logo on it. I follow all the steps: 1. Connect cube to computer ... but I don't get that screen. Can you clarify a little more there? It's very complicated, man, not all of us can get it this fast...
