Cheers J, the studio version is doable to keep up, most of the live versions are a lot faster :) The hardest part for me is always keeping the triple thumbs sounding the same over the whole song, first verse is easy, after that it starts to get harder to stay consistent and execute the notes properly. Mark is like a robot playing this with every note coming out perfectly and then also singing at the same time!

Imagine singing while you are playing that!!! Amazing talent in Level 42 and I just recently realized that. I always thought they were just another English 80's band!

I’ve loved this song since it was first released and, wow, had NO idea how complex this bassline is. Amazing!

Nice, and clean technique, man. It's clean technique, and stamina that's a must for this tune. The band I was in played this tune in the early 2000's. It took me a good 6 months before I felt comfortable playing it live in front of people. But, once you fall into the groove, it's rather easy after a while. It's almost like your hypnotized after you get going. I just couldn't imagine singing, AND playing this part. Your brain would practically have to split in half to work both parts. Lol.

Very disciplined. Nice job. Its sometimes easy to learn a line or trick but to do it repetitively gets tough. Excellent

Glad you liked it. I am using an Alembic series1 copy made by Fernandes. An ideal bass IMO is a balanced bass without a heavy neck (neck dive), good active electronics that can be adjusted independently per pickup, a body that feels comfy and a fast straight neck preferably with ebony wood.
