If you have a sound bar with an audio input jack or a TV with a headphone/audio input, you can use the splitter method, but you will need to connect an audi cable with male connectors on both ends to connect to TV or sound bar. I tried it today. It works, I just need a longer cord.

If you have a usb mic (no headset) and a headset, you can use obs advanced audio settings to change the monitor mode to "monitor and output" and plug in your headset to your pc and your mic to your ps4, you'll have to mute your desktop audio output on obs so there is no echo. Use the headset mic for your stream mic and your ps4 mic to talk to friends.

Because of this issue alone, Playstation may never be my primary console. I usually game on Xbox.

I don’t stream so it’s probably different but if you want this for single player games where a microphone isn’t needed, you can plug your headset directly into the back of the tv and you’ll be able to set it up where you get audio in the headset and the TV without having to buy anything extra.

Good info. I myself use Astro A50's for the PS4 that is connected by USB and optical cable. I just switch the audio output on the PS4 from my Astro's to TV/Amplifier so I'm able to capture game sound and chat. Also if I wanted, that would allow the sound to come out of the tv. Also, you could buy a USB Audio Adapter with 3.5mm jack plugins for a MIC & Headset for around $8.99 on the Amazon. "that's what we call it around here... The Amazon"

Thank you. I just had to set the headphones as primary audio and plug in a normal 3.5mm male to male end cable, which leads into my RealTek line-in, and switch to chat only.
