I have researched A Pierrepoint in depth, and many others in the same profession (some of whom were clearly not suited to the job for various reasons). It's clear from the lyrics in your song that you have a firm and accurate understanding of the man, who he was, why he did what he did, and how he went about his craft.

Hey Os, Pierrepoint's dedication to carrying out his duty quickly and cleanly so as to avoid undue suffering is admirable I think. He took pride in it in fact. In the end he denounced the death penalty because he felt that all his work did nothing to deter crime. Interesting fellow. Thanks Os. -Ron

A song that is satirical and dense.

Thanks Duncan, and I keep forgetting you're in the UK. My family originally came from the Sussex area, and I have a good friend who lives in Bradford. It's a small world. Have a good evening. -Ron

What a fantastic song. You've really captured the essence of the man.

This song is really fantastic , both the lyric and the melody.

There were about 600 or so others that wish they had never heard of him either :) Thanks for dropping by Danny. I'll be over to your channel shortly for to catch up on archive stuff. Thanks, -Ron

Hi Duncan, thanks for stopping by on this one again. I'm very glad it has some inspiration for you. I'll send you a PM in a minute so I won't get cut off by the posting limit. -Ron

Hi Sophia. Thank you, and thanks for pointing out the standard practices. I did realize that actually, but my notes do suggest that this activity was unique to Pierrepoint. I will revise it. Thanks, -Ron

This is very good Ron - love the traditional sound on this one. I've briefly heard of this guy, I might have to look into reading more about him.

Folk music being such a favourite style of listening for me as I enjoy a song that has a story behind it. Your inspirations in writing this are true as you express so very well in song. Very nicely written and performed Ron! :)
