One of the best films I have ever seen in my life. Period.

first miike flick i saw, now i own all of his movies. Miike is a true cinematic genius, he is breathing life into modern cinema.

Its pretty cartoon-ish so that makes the violence less shocking but the rapes are always hard to watch. the final "battle" between Ichi and Kakihara, is disappointing but it was made that way to piss you off. Even one of the characters show disappointment to the build up but that shows how well crafted this movie is also, hints and wordplay are a big part in this twisted flick.

I love those 2 lines in the trailer. " one has to be considerate when administering pain, its the only way to be considerate" and " find love and die "

Old boy has a great story and good rhythm

This is definitely one of my favorite films. Its in my top 20s.

@KevsHardLemonade It's based off of a Japanese comic graphic novel manga thing, and The actor who played Kakihara, Tadanobu Asano is kinda famous over there.

Takashi Miike makes the film that goes all the way in every way. Japanese, English dubbed, doesn't matter. I found Takashi through the Eli Roth movies. He usually makes Yakuza action, but ya never really know what you will get with this guy.

This movie is sickest, violent, but funny. Takashi Miike has a good style
