It seems that a phenomena happened on earth and it involved the "Marine Sulfur Queen" and teleportation. The thing with teleportation is you don't know where you're gonna end up. Not only that, two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. The weaker object, being less dense, will succumb and give way to the mass of the other object that is more dense . In the case of the ship, it was teleported by either scientific experimentation or by a rare but random phenomenon in nature. The ship vanished from one place and ended up in a cave deep underground. In the Phillidelphia Experiment, a ship vanished from one place, then ended up somewhere far away but the people on board were fused to the hull of the ship as if flesh and steel could fuse together.

There actually was a ship by the name of the SS MARINE SULPHUR QUEEN that disappeared in 1963.
